Tapestry Design and Weave
All workshops are carried out through HyperAction.
A wide range of projects is available for schools and every other level of education and community. From one day workshops to full scale communal weaving combined with digital media to document the project and produce an interactive resource for the classroom.
“Let’s Explore . . .” is an exciting project structure that allows a school or group to investigate its local history through exploring the local area with digital still and video cameras, microphones, pencils and paper, etc. Interviewing the older inhabitants of the area brings forth a personal history of local places and events, ways of life and work.
This collected information can then be translated into a design for woven tapestry or large scale digital print and / or an interactive CD ROM or video.
The project combines new technology with traditional techniques, the young with the elderly and provides a unique way for children and adults to learn about and appreciate both the past and the present.
Distance and language is not a problem and assistance with fund raising can be given where necessary.
