“Taking the LeAP - Moving on to Comp” is a multimedia project designed to address the concerns of Year 6 children in their last term of primary school. Designed with children from Years 5 - 8, “the interactivity of the CD ROM allows it to do all that the rest of the Transition Programme cannot”.

The CD gives pupils and parents a chance to explore the fears and expectations they may have about the Comprehensive School they are soon to enter.

Pupils are able to talk about and illustrate their concerns. They are able to watch and

listen to their peers a year ahead of them respond to those concerns and reassure them as to the reality of life at Comprehensive School.

They can take a virtual tour of the school and see the classrooms and lessons in action. They can discover the scope of activities provided by the school as well as practical information on school uniform and rules.

The CD ROM uses a template to present all this information but within this template the

Comprehensive and Primary Schools can work with our media artists to create entirely unique material. The project covers 1 comprehensive and up to 10 primary feeder schools.

The structure of the project is described in our “Taking the LeAP” Project Pack. Please contact us if you would like to discuss the project in more detail and a pack will be provided at that time. Tel: 07887 906236.

Interactive CD ROMs, large scale digital prints, animation, video, sound, graphic design, DVDs, projects, INSET.

“Taking the LeAP - Moving on to Comp” or “Symud Ymlaen gyda LeAP - Symud i’r Ysgol Uwchradd” can be produced in English or Welsh (or any other language). It is an ideal opportunity not only for pupils and parents to get to know many different aspects of the school they will be attending but also for the secondary school to present itself to future and potential pupils. The disc uses sound recording and up to 25 video clips to show all aspects of school life in action from lessons and break times to extra curricular activities.
