Alastair Duncan has worked as a fibre artist at all levels of education. He has run projects in Primary and Secondary schools, lectured in Higher Education, worked through galleries and with the community. He has also been a visiting lecturer on the Tapestry Diploma Course at West Dean College. Examples of primary school projects and tapestries can be seen by clicking on the link to the left. Some of the different approaches to projects, from one day workshops to major whole school projects, can be seen by clicking on the Project Option button. These options also include planning and assessment notes for teachers. Each project that is done is generally based on the above options but is also organized to meet the needs and circumstances of each different situation. School projects aim not only to give the pupils and teachers a new experience but also to put them in a position whereby they can use the techniques again in the future. To this end, the classroom situation and curriculum is always taken into account. |
