Llangennech Large Format Digital print Project

4' x 8'

The Llangennech Digital Print Project was done with two Year 5 classes (10 - 11 year olds) and was to celebrate the school's 50th anniversary and measures 4' x 8'. The project involved the children and teachers doing a lot of research the results of which had to be collated before any of it could be selected and used in the design for the print.

The development of the design was entirely collaborative between myself, the children and their teachers. The children became very familiar with digital cameras and scanning and started to understand some of what can be done with image manipulation and graphics programs on the computer.

The schools computer suite was used for the gathering of all information to be used but a more powerful computer was provided by the artist to develop the actual design. This was done using a 19" high resolution monitor and digital projector.

Whilst this is very much a celebratory print design, any subject matter could be used for such a project whether it is to be a fine art print or cover a particular aspect or subject in the curriculum - see the Gwaunfarren print above.
